Since Rancho Grande’s inception in 1974, the Alvarado family has made it their ambition to provide a small, welcoming family environment where people can count on great food with a clean, casual and friendly atmosphere.


Affectionately nicknamed “RG’s,” “The Ranch” or “Louie’s,” Rancho Grande is a great find for anyone with a desire for authentic Mexican food. From our mouth-watering Carne Asada and Carnitas to our delicious Barbacoa, Chile Rellenos, Enchiladas – not to mention our famous Louie Special – every item is prepared when you order it and to your satisfaction.


Originally owned and operated by our Dad, Jose Luis Alvarado Sr., there was no such thing as second best; attention to detail was a way of life, and nothing less was acceptable. Dad brought a hard work ethic, dedication to quality, and the family recipes that we follow to this day.


From the main dishes to the chips and salsa, everything is made from scratch the old-fashioned way, with fresh ingredients and a tremendous amount of patience and care. It is this tradition that results – in our opinion – the best Mexican food anywhere, north or south of the border!
